Cataract Surgery
Standard Cataract Surgery
High-precision removal of cataracts using mono-focal lenses. This is the most widely used approach. The aim is to leave your eyes equally focussed for distance. Glasses may be required for the best possible distance vision but will be needed for reading and close work.
Complex Cataract Surgery
Expert care for advanced or difficult cases, including those with previous eye surgery trauma or scarring.
Laser Cataract Surgery
Utilising femtosecond laser technology for enhanced accuracy and safety.Utilising femtosecond laser technology for enhanced accuracy and safety.
Cataract Surgery with premium lenses. Vision Correction (Refractive Surgery)
Vision Correction (Refractive Surgery)
Lens Replacement (RLE)
Using premium lenses to reduce dependence on glasses even though you have no cataract or minimal cataract.
Monofocal lenses
Monofocal lenses may be suitable if you have other eye problems or if you are worried that you may not cope well with the optical side effects of multifocal lens implantation. Monofocal lenses have fewer optical side effects than multifocal lenses, but do not provide freedom from glasses for a wide range of activities.
Premium Intraocular Lenses
These lenses are designed to reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses. There are various options available and will be discussed with you. Not everyone will be suitable for these lenses Toric lenses can be used to treat astigmatism. Multifocal lenses are most likely to help you eliminate glasses, but the compromise is the occurrence of glare and haloes. Most but not all people can adapt to this. Extended depth of focus lenses (EDOF lenses) work on the same principle as multifocal lenses. Alternatives include enhanced monofocal lenses which provide some freedom from glasses without the optical side effects of multifocal lenses.
Toric lenses
Toric lenses are designed to reduce astigmatism. These are available as both multifocal and monofocal lenses, and they are a good option if your pre-operative tests show that your cornea is ‘more rugby ball shaped than football shaped’.
