Nottingham Ophthalmology was created by Mr Subramaniam over 15 yrs ago. As an experienced consultant ophthalmologist (eye doctor), he wanted to offer the best possible eyecare to the people in the midlands…. Mr Subramaniam has been practicing Ophthalmology for over 25 years and is one of the leading eye surgeons in The East Midlands, having performed several thousand cataract and refractive surgical procedures during his career. He was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Ophthalmology (CCST) in 1999 and is on the General Medical Council’s register of specialists.
“Being one of the first surgeons to be assessed for competency in laser refractive surgery by The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, he has subsequently become an assessor for competency in laser refractive surgery.“
Using the latest technologies in cataract and refractive lens surgery, he is trained and certified in laser cataract surgery and routinely uses premium lenses, including various types of multifocal lenses.
Mr Subramaniam has a wealth of clinical experience gained over many years and through performing thousands of surgical procedures. He also holds the following academic and profressional.
- DO – Diploma in Ophthalmology
- MS – Master’s degree in Ophthalmology
- FRCS (Ophthalmology) – Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow
- FRCOphth – Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists
- CertLRS – Certificate of competence in laser
Along with Mr Subramamiams extensive priavte clinics, he also holds a NHS susbtantive consultant post and provides private clinical services with mutliple private health groups.
