Eyelids & cysts removal

While benign and non-cancerous lumps in the eyelids are far more common, cancerous cysts and lumps present different treatment options.

Chalazion: a common occurrence when the glands in your eyelids are blocked and the gradual accumulation of secretions forms behind the blockage to cause redness and swelling in your eyelid along with a visible lump. Chalazions can arise due to suboptimal eyelid hygiene or inflammation of the eyelid (blepharitis) among other causes.

Chalazions are typically surgically removed via an incision on the inside of the lid, after numbing the lid with local anaesthetic. You will be given an antibiotic to apply after the procedure for the next few days.
